In July 2022 I joined an artists' study program in Barcelona for a month. The "Nocturne" works are inspired by resonant moments from this time wandering the historic quarters of Barcelona, especially at night.

For me, these spaces take on a dreamlike feel when the bustle of modern life fades away and darkness falls. In the shadows I feel closer to the history and past lives lived amongst the time-worn colonnades, piazzas and secret gardens of the old city.

The works explore the interplay of elemental shapes, dark and light to capture the resonance between real moments and imaginary worlds.
